Covid-19 Update

May 19, 2020 - 12:00 am

Hi All,

Hopefully our lives will become a little better as Alberta starts to loosen some of the restrictions due to COVID 19 – it has been a long haul.

The Elks planned to open today (Tuesday 19 May) with the Alberta Stage 1 restrictions, one of which is that gatherings can not be greater than 15 people indoors (Please refer to Alberta’s Relaunch webpage for further information.) As such, we are not re-starting the Thursday evening sports evenings for the time being.

As you know, Stage 2, when launched, will allow a greater number of people to gather, and we have tentatively booked the lower hall for our June 9th if it appears that we are able to meet and stay within the guidelines that exist at that time, and we are comfortable that we are not putting our members at risk.

On the positive side, the contributions you made to Bev Lee for the masks that she graciously made for so many members of the Branch amounted to $840. Our sincere thanks to Bev for this unselfish donation of her materials and time, and to you who made donations for your masks.

If you have looked at the Okotoks Legion Website recently, you will see there is a new BLOG section.

Please read the BLOGS already there and share your thoughts and views.

Don’t forget the Okotoks Food Bank Drive for 5, – drop off food and toiletries at Marcelle and Barry’s (and leave your name), or contact us for pick-up, and if you make a financial donation direct to the Food Bank, put “Okotoks Legion” in the Message Box.

Keep Safe,

Bob
